Tim Smith renovated our basement. He was impressive because as he walked around the unfinished basement he had a vision as to it what the end product would look like, I can tell you we never thought he could do as much as he did! He did a great job, lots of storage, basement full bathroom is light and airy, the work out area meets our needs, a project room where there is ample space. The flooring is a light gray, walls are light, the lightening is bright and useful. The quality of the doors, the woodwork, plastering, plumbing, and painting were all top notch.

Tim Smith came highly recommended to us as someone with experience renovating historic homes in Chatham, and my husband and I have appreciated his expertise very much.  When we hired Tim to restore our 1837 home in the Old Village, we didn’t know where to begin.  Tim guided us through the design process and helped us get the approval of the Historic Committee to do things in a way that fit with the Old Village and honored the history of the home, while also making it fit for modern living.  Our project began with building a garage/carriage house on the property, putting in a new driveway, and lifting the main house and putting a new foundation and basement under it.  Tim is the best contractor we’ve ever worked with.  He does what he says he is going to do and he does it on time.  He has communicated with us every step of the way, and the quality of his work has been impeccable.  The guys that work for Tim are considerate and  professional as well. All in all, a great experience working with Tim and Minglewood Homes.  We are grateful!

My husband and I had the privilege of working with Tim Smith and the incredible carpentry crew at Minglewood.  We have engaged a number of general contractors over the years and this was the best experience we have ever had.  We bought a beautiful historic house and needed to have the steep front stairs completely redone, including an entire new foyer built on the front of the house.  Tim knows so much about antique houses and he has impeccable taste.  The best part about Tim, though, is his no nonsense style and ability to problem-solve quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.  He always did what he said he would do and the pricing came in just where he predicted.  The only surprise we had was how fun it was to have him and his crew at our house every day.  We truly felt like we had a hired a partner who could and would look out for our best interests along the way.  The Minglewood group is a glowing gem in what is often a sea of just so-so contractors.  We just can’t recommend Tim and his team enough.  Julia and David Holloway.
